KNITTING TRENDS '17

By Tiff //

For some of you around the world you’re already roaming streets covered in snow with a chunky knit wrapped around your neck. Yet for others you still have a bit of time left to decide how you’re going to keep out the frost this winter. There is no better way to get cozy than with merino wool covering you from head to toe. Here are our predictions for this years knitting trends. Whether you’re into a classic grey marle beanie or a zany eye popping jersey from the 80’s you’ll find something to tickle your fancy.

WAZAM
This year it’s about the pow. Self expression is completely on trend, now more than ever. It’s not even about what you’re wearing it’s how you wear it. When you’re confident and comfortable in your own skin, you’ll find yourself chucking on clothes that might be a little out of the ordinary, not minding if it draws attention to yourself. If that sounds like you, this 2017 trend might be the slice of pie you’re looking for.

OH-LALA
For those Friday nights when the music’s blasting, your home alone, the curtains are closed and you’ve just poured your second glass of wine. You know you want to be dancing in these bad boys, not an eye in sight and you’re shimmying from one side of the kitchen to the dining room. These saucy numbers are the straw to your berry.

ROGUE
The years of bare walls are over, it’s time to freshen up your living room with a splash of yarn. A simple rogue design is all you need to add a bit of character to your home. Also, this magical piece doubles as a scarf – so when you’re rushing out the door and can’t find your go to scarf, you can grab your wall display wrap it around your neck & you’re good as gold.

LUX
Simplicity and luxury combined, she’s as snug as a rug, yet still fit for the cat walk. She's sassy, she's comfortable, and elegant. She might take up half of your wardrobe but it means you can throw out all your other jumpers you know you'll never wear after grabbing one of these beauties.

LUSH
You can’t get through those crisper days without a mate keeping your neck snug. Whats even better? It being a warm neutral colour! We are a fan of nude hues here at Plump & Co so this pink chunky scarf ticks all our boxes. We think scarfs double the length of your height are gonna go off this year, so get knitting!
